Meet the Communications Director

Introduction

Communications directors are responsible for developing and executing communication strategies, managing media relations, handling crisis communication, coordinating PR campaigns and maintaining brand image. They play a vital role in shaping the organization’s public image and reputation.

The Jindal School has its own in-house Communications Director, Jimmie Markham, who oversees all Jindal School related communications efforts, including news, podcasts and other publications. He oversees a team of freelance writers and writes and edits pieces that tell the Jindal School’s story on a number of print and online platforms, including JSOM’s online news center Inside Jindal, JSOM Perspectives blog, MANAGEMENT magazine and several newsletters. Story focuses include faculty and research achievements, student and alumni successes, corporate partnerships and program and center updates.

When appropriate, he works with the UT Dallas Office of Communications to coordinate media pitches to help increase the Jindal School’s visibility.

He also produces a podcast — The Business of Healthcare Podcast — for the Center for Healthcare Leadership and Management.

Please contact Jimmie if you wish to speak with him about your program’s or center’s public relations needs.
