Create a JIRA Request
Once logged in click on create issue at the top right corner to log a new issue/change request. For a JSOM Web Services request, the Project should be “-=Naveen Jindal SOM Website Requests=- (SOMWEB)” and the Issue Type should be “SOM Update Webpage” (though any selection will work).
After your first ticket these two dropdowns will be the default values unless you change them.
Enter the Issue Details
Summary: Give a brief summary, like a title for your issue.
Website: Paste the URL of the page that needs to be
changed, for changes on multiple pages, please specify the start page URL here and give additional information in the description box.
Description: Give a detailed summary of the changes that need to be performed. Be as descriptive as possible
Assignee: this can be left as automatic and your issue will be assigned to someone from the team depending on resources available at that time.
CC: works like CC of email, any email addresses entered here would be receiving email updates on the progress of the issue, comments as well as resolution status along with the creator of the issue. If you are the one who created the issue you are automatically eligible to receive updates and should not put your email address here.
Attachment: if there is a lot of text to be changed and you prefer to submit it with the help of a document, you can use this option. Please highlight the text that has been changed with a different color so that the developer can quickly identify the changes and there is less chance of an error or change being omitted
When you are done, click the Create button to create the JIRA.
